I am new to beach living and was wondering how everyone keeps their house from filling with sand! I shower as soon as I get home from the beach and take my shoes off outside the door but still leave a sandy path from the front door to the shower. What's your strategy?

2 pairs of flip flops, yo. One for the beach, and one for after hosing off your feet when you get back home. After you hose your feet, it is all about making sure they are dry before you put the pair of home flip flops on.

Baby Powder! BOOYAH. I saw it on TV or the Intertubes. Some people say to put it on a towel first others say directly onto you.

welcome to the beach! I love the thought of sand being a constant part of my home decor - not the reality of it, just the thought of it.
I leave my flip flops outside most of the time anyway - but after they've been outside in the sun, the sand isn't an issue. Rainbow flip flops are the best - they are leather so the sand doesn't stick much anyway.
Oh yeah, the baby powder thing! I forgot about that helpful tip.

Disagree on rainbow flipflops. Overpriced and not comfortable for what they are. And I used to swear by them.
What you really want are these: http://www.islandslipper.com/islandslipper/
They will do custom orders, the PT202 is good and has arch support if you want leather. If you want softer and more comfortable with the arch, go with the “Mano” model.
Be warned, they are slow.
