A hispanic man in a white panel van, plate # 8T52007 has moved in the neighborhood on & around Mildred. He tried to break into my home today. Yanking on & kicking my front door. He is missing several front teeth. I called LAPD pacific division & the phone rang & rang & rang again for over five minutes with no answer. The number I dialed is 310-482-6334.

Update:  OMFG! I finally got through to the police & they were so blase'. Didn't even want the guys plate number. This was an attempted home invasion!!! Apparently that's not much of a priority. WTF?!? Venice has become California's toilet. I also dialed 310-482-6335 & 310-482-6336.

I agree & It would have been but by the time I got to my phone he was driving away. If there is a next time I will dial 911 anyway.

Our neighborhood watch had Officer Skinner at a meeting and she said any call that you think the police need to be involved in "now" should go through 911…  since anything coming into the station # you called just gets put on the back burner (translation:  no one will be coming out).

Be safe…

Thank you Verona. Good to know. Sad but still good to know.

Mystified that "an attempted home invasion!!!" wasn't enough to make you cal 911.

It's just not believable.

Or you have serious judgement issues.

Very.

Have you filed a police report?

And don't forget--if you don't have a landline you'll have to explain carefully where you are!

As I stated in my earlier post; by the time I got to my phone he was driving away. What would have been the point of dialing 911 then? The threat had passed. I am going in first thing in the morning to make them file a report at the station as the officer I spoke with on the phone seamed very disinclined to take any sort of report & was not even interested in the license plate number.

That sucks!  I'm glad you are okay.  If you file a report at least they'll have a record for when this winner shows up at someone else's house.
