The Triangle Update says the previously Platinum Motors location at Washington and Lincoln is about to become a "Fresh and Easy" market. Fresh and Easy presently has locations in Manhattan Beach and El Segundo.

Platinum Motors Venice

From the Triangle Update:

"Fresh and Easy, which sells organic vegetables, has leased the northwest corner of Lincoln and Washington Blvd, according to David Thind, leasing agent for Coldwell Banker."

For those paranoid about outsiders invading Venice, Fresh And Easy is the U.S. convenience store chain owned by Tesco, the British grocery giant.  They haven't been doing too well with this effort – I seem to recall a bunch of Fresh And Easy stores being closed down around the country due to poor sales.

Boo, terrible intersection about to get a lot worse! Trader Joe's has a better selection anyway.

Yeah, it's better being a homeless camp/bathroom.  I'm happy to see anything other than a weed shop or used car dealer go in there. TJs is going in the Marina so apparently there is room for both.

I think anything is better looking than a used car lot. Lincoln has enough visual blight.

Fresh and Easy has a good reputation for the items they sell.

How so? Those going west are already turning into The restaurants, hotels and weed shops already located on the north side of westbound Washington. What's one more? Northbound folks wanting some organic grub will use either of the 2 dedicated left turn lanes and us the Washington entrance like they did when it was a car lot. I just don't see and real traffic change. Might put a dent in the homeless with signs market but cleaning up that corner seems like a huge bonus to my neighborhood.

ANY business there will create more traffic, right? That's the idea, right? It beats an empty building housing transients or yet another used car lot under a different name that closes in a year, again. I'll take the traffic. It's not like it's not crowded already. An improvement to the existing structure, some JOBS, some stability and some organic vegetables all seem to trump making a busy traffic space a little busier. It's LA, there's traffic. Get real.

I'd love to see something useful to the community go in there. Fresh and Easy fits the bill for me!
