Apparently there was a mass exodus a little after nine but it's still going.

I left at 8:30 because I've got a fever and feel like crap.  A mass exodus?!  Why, that empty room makes a perfect time for Linda Lucks to introduce some new wacked curveball into this unending process.

I felt bad for the Penmar folks who had this shoved down their throats last week, especially since Bonin and his cronies had no clue how a lot of this plan was supposed to work.  No one ever answered the residents' questions about who was going to enforce these "rules" that they have.  Bonin actually suggested that the security guard at the golf course should spend the whole night unlocking the gates for the RV folks every time one of them had to go to the bathroom.  I think that was my favorite suggestion of the night.

I'm sure the majority of the Penmar area has no idea what is headed their way. And a week or two leaves hard working residents no time to organize, oh wait, maybe that was the point. Doh!

I made it until 10 past 10. I agree with that the PenMar folks got blindsided. I gave "tepid" support to 85.11 because I would hate to see 50 housing vouchers not be used by people dropped off in Venice. 85.11 goes away, so do the vouchers to another neighborhood. In the end, this has to be all about transitioning and "end game" for the remaining RV's, the days of strangers hiding in vehicles next to our homes are GONE FOREVER if we keep up unending pressure.

I also think it does "enable" an end game to this RV nonsense: its like Judge repellant: while there is a housing option enforcement of the law continues. One of the RV'ers (who was in the 8 man march, btw) was angry that her daughter and grandchild accepted a voucher, but she of course refused to use her voucher because it was not close enough.

I mean, if you were from elsewhere and hadn't heard all of this before, you would think you landed in an alternate bizarro world universe. No responsible Judge is going to buy her argument that Stoner Avenue (west LA) is just too far away or doesn't suit her wants. A few blocks to Westwood simply not good enough, how cruel.

The PenMar neighborhood group guy spoke to me and I wanted to speak with him some more: I frankly think 85.11 should go through with or without a Venice lot, for whatever its worth, and I feel thier pain.

END GAME!

What's with Ms. Guzman motioning to change the 150 foot setback to 50 foot at the last minute?  That is a BS move to sit through 2 plus hours of comment and then once 80% of the public is gone then through curveball. Denied.

No comment on her alleged snitch hunting trip.

The artist (loose word usage) Abraham did give a shout out to Guzman though, as well as, told her 'haters' to watch out…

I missed the GOOD WIFE for that…… Penmar you are now a petrie dish…golfers VS RVS should be an interesting mix. Bonin responded to the security issue by saying PATH will be providing security….Ms Guzman then tried to add all the lots that LAPD said pass on because PATH would provide security….her amendment FAILED OVERWHELEMING!!!! someone really has issues with LAPD perhaps its her up coming litigation'S!

What is really strange to me is that they are setting these folks for disaster…Venice is expensive,California is expensive…and the price of gas is killing ALL of US! Not every one can afford to live at the beach…this is an economic REALITY! not a judgement on who gets to! Good luck to all involved but especially the residents of Penmar!

Props to the members at this meeting who really stood up for the residents of Penmar!

I've always appreciated when others posted videos when I couldn't attend (or stay through the end) so I pulled out my Flip Cam (rip) towards the end of the meeting. I only had room for 15 minutes of video, shot sparingly and had to delete a few old clips to make room for more because it kept filling up. The longest clip is the third one which includes our Councilman speaking at about 11pm. He was responding to a question from Joe Murphy regarding if he would move the program forward without the support from the Venice Neighborhood Council for a parking lot in Venice.

Big cheers from me to Mariana.  Everyone should know how hard she was fighting to make her voice heard, and what excellent points she made.  We should all be very, very pleased to have such a rational, intelligent, fair person on the VNC. Lady, I can't imagine how frustrating that must be!

As an aside: if you have ever wondered what kinds of "snacks" are offered at a VNC meeting…here is one platter I couldn't resist snapping:

The majority of the VNC Board seemed to be more interested in that tray of "Ding-Dongs" than the concerns

of residents of the Penmar Community.

It was quite a show last pm.

One item that jumped out and I hope someone can confirm this:

Path will be providing a security detail to oversee the three proposed parking lots.

However, and I would like to get a confirmation, there will only be one detail.

Meaning the one detail will be have to be in three different parts parts of CD11

during the course of any given night the lots are in operation.

I think many people at the meeting and the VNC Board assumed the security detail would be

at the Penmar parking lot all night.
