OfflineBret, some of those photos are awesome, and with the research you've already done, you should write up an article about RV-ing in SoCal. RV mags, those insipid airline seatpocket magazines are all written by freelancers (e.g. rent RV at such&such with connecting service on "sponsor" airline). The pay isn't great, but Y-not? Use a "nom-de-plume" if you feel it might hurt your chances at more "serious" work.

OfflineI don't think the point is to engage in tit-for-tat with SM.
The point is to have them cease clogging our beach lots PERIOD. My nose doesn't stop working the minute I cross the border, and the criminals don't care which town they're in. The germs they spread certainly don't care whether you're in SM or Venice.

SM is its own city with its own police and laws.
They can't get ignored and turned into a de facto skid row by the LAPD/Trutanich cabal.

Don't disagree. And I hope their own police and laws deal with this problem too. Kicking these guys back and forth across the border and allowing them to play one city or neighborhood off against the other isn't going to solve the problems. As I said, I often walk across that border. So do the criminals and so do their sewage-induced biohazards.
So I'm just hoping SM stand up to the problem as well.

Not sure exactly what problem you hope SM stands up to. Seems like they're already doing a pretty good job
of rousting their bums to Venice and sending their planes over us also.
If I'm not mistaking, they sent the beach telephone poles down as well…

Micheal, SM is way ahead of us. I think that's why we've had such an influx--they were successful in lowering their transient population a few years ago.
Yup. Absolutely.
But sending them back doesn't permanently solve anything, especially if they're still making their way to Venice after the lot closes to sleep.
Same true if they find a refuge in Culver City or anyplace else around here.
Got to make sure that whatever we do makes it equally unpleasant for them to be anywhere in the area, 24x7. Hopefully SMs will institute the same kind of rules for their lots as we have.
(And yeah, it'll be nice to have SM follow our lead for a change, if only on one minor point.)
