Chair you know that it is your responsibility to forward committee
info to the entire email list. That was voted on at the second
meeting. Not only have you left my agenda item off the agenda, failed
to include me in committee emails but you haven't even sent the agenda
out to me. I also requested the committee email list which you don't
seem to want me to have either. Why are you stonewalling? Why are you
leaving legitimate issues off the agenda? The meeting is this Wed.
Dec 22. at 9:30 am. If you cannot do the simplest requirements than
could you please email me the petition to remove you from the VNC. I
will be bringing several homeless stakeholders to the meeting. They
have been disenfranchised by you and this committee based on the facts
that are attached. You should have agendized this issue but you
decided to be the decision maker for everyone, what's up with that?.
That is wrong. I'm sorry that this petition campaign to remove you
has to be done. I understand you are working hard but you have no
right to shut me out as has been done to Matt, Marie, Carol and every
homeless person in Venice. That is what I and a growing number of
stakeholders consider, discrimination. .
OUTCOME: MEETING CANCELED. (BEST BELIEVE, *&#^$!) Sorry you did not get to accomplish things for DOWD/DOGG to VETO!

TK Stew, I am guessing but it seems you have analyzed Guzman's photo carefully and concluded her credentials are a positive for our small LA neighborhood. She also may be one who would kidnap you now that the invitation is out.

Some of you are relentless and your seriousness and opinion in any matter, will certainly be questioned from now on, as far as I am concerned. I know many of you won't give a *#!%$! what I think and that doesn't bother me and therefore I am willing to put myself in your "crosshairs". Why don't you try giving people the benefit of the doubt and try a little civility, as hard as it may be for some of you.
I have known Peter and Monae for years and while I may not know Ms. Guzman very well, except from the sniping I get here on Yovenice – this happened and it was tragic, no matter who they targeted. Ms. Guzman has every right to be upset. Wait until something like this happens to you. You may laugh, but anything is possible – wait and see.
Monae is twenty-one year old, disabled but has a heart of pure gold, with a father who takes exemplary care of her and has, since she was an infant. Many of you, as your words reflect who you really are, don't have the strength or gumption to do what he has done ! The fact is that Ms. Guzman, a friend of theirs and who helps them, says a lot more about who she is then any of you – who choose to belittle and put her down every chance you get. Try being civil, it works better than all sniping some of you do – day in and day out!!

I understand that the LAPD were responding to an extremely serious felony that involved exigent circumstances. My only real concern is for the child involved. In this case, severely disabled Monea (wow, I can't believe she is 21) was caught in the middle of this mess. I truly hope that this beautiful angel whom I have known for 16 years is OK. Her dad is a decent hard working musician with very little means but he does his best.
Thank you very much – Monea is an angel and Peter IS a decent man. With the help of Renee and the kindness of friends and strangers Monea continue to live a long life, as she gets lots of love and attention from those who truly care for her. People who do not know this young woman have no idea what a light she is.

This isn't Monae. I'm sure everyone agrees she is great so ease up with the lecture about being civil. It isn't about her or her doting father. I'm sure he loves her. This is about a, I'm sorry, THE community leader Ivonne and her sense of superiority and bad decision to drive the angel of light and her father after having had a few cocktails and getting chippy with the cops.
Mentor what if the story had a far more grim outcome, and it was discovered that the infamous Guzman was just let go because she was known by the people who pulled her over? Then you'd scream the police didn't do enough to stop them if any harm came to what was thought to be a child.
Being on the VNC and saying you know Linda Lucks would give most people in this community more pause for suspicion than thinking they are do-gooders. Somehow she seems to mistakenly think that makes her a good person. Yeah. Look how good she is.
If you see the cops pulling over this guy who beat his 10 month old daughter to death this week, just hope he doesn't dazzle them with kindness and reassurances of what a great guy he is so he is just let go. Believe it or not there are bad people out there and sometimes they are people you know.
The Saturday evening homicide of a 10-month old baby from blunt force trauma has resulted in sheriff's Homicide detectives and South Gate police officers seeking the public's help in locating a South Gate man, wanted in connection with the baby's murder.
Suspect Jose Deras allegedly assaulted his wife and 10-month old daughter at about 5:40PM, in the 5100 block of McCallum Avenue, South Gate.
The assault resulted in the death of the infant girl.
Suspect Deras was last seen driving his black 2008 Nissan Sentra, black, 4-Door, California license number 6FYB170. His destination is not known.
Jose Deras is a 20-year old Hispanic male, 5'08', 160 pounds. He has curly black hair, slight moustache, and a goatee. He has a tattoo of a dragon on his right shoulder, and a tattoo of skulls on his upper right shoulder.

…just adding to BillyBob's post: all accounts of the incident allege that the Father and young lady were released in less than 15 minutes, it was involvement with Ivonne that continued on and on: this is borne out even in her version of the story, btw, so that point does not appear to be in dispute. I didn't perceive any posts that dissed the Dad and daughter. I usually find your posts insightful and intelligent, Mentor, but you might have misread some information in light of the accounts of the incident.
