Dumping Two: Electric Boogaloo - City Attorney Owes Us An Explanation

On September 8th, I called Trutanich's office to make an iquiry about the RV dumpers and to get the actual status on the situation from the horses mouth. He was not in, but John Franklin who is the official spokesman for the City Attorney told me that they were taking the RV issue very seriously. He referred me directly to Claudia Martin… and he actually gave me his personal cell number stating that not only were the RV dumpers in trouble… but there were warrants out for their arrest and they were looking for them… and if they were sighted to call the police and then to call him directly.

This information was reiterated by a number of city and police officials over the course of various meetings… and was communiacted to the community.

Well, last night was our time to shine. A few residents saw the RV and not only was it back… it was dumping. I only have  few photos from them… there were multiple people in the vehicle and I am trying to coordinate all the photos and video. Once the plate was positively ID'd… the police were called and they followed the vehicle until the cops stopped the vehicle.

Well, as you may have read… no warrants, no nothing. We've been shined folks. We were all told that the RV dumpers, who dumped in front of MY house… had warrants, were being charged with the dumping crime, the additional crime of aiding a dumping ( for the driver ) and the cost of the cleanup. We were ASSURED this was the case… and apparently, as evidenced by the cops telling the residents that called the vehicle in… that their record was clean and they were being let go. AND they weren't cited for dumping last night. The folks that follwed the RV and photographed it dumping implored with the officers to look at the cap and to look where they dumped… NOPE. Not interested. The cops wouldn't even check.

Ok. I was willing to trust the system….and hope to hell that it worked. So much for that.

First photo is of dump trail at south venice and AK, next photo is of them getting pulled over by the po po and the last photo is of the driver, enabler, co-dumper, and landlord to the young woman and 8 yr old girl that live in the RV with him.

It seems like the people in charge want the residents of Venice to handle this on our own.

Ok.

OK. Flexing my fingers now. Will start typing soon.

See how easy this is?  Just sit back and let those guys continue to mess up. They truly can't help themselves.

We absolutely need to file a class action lawsuit against everyone from the governator on down. This is truly horrifying.

I'll pass on the explanation and settle for their resignations.

It's getting harder and harder to argue with that direction. Shame on you Venice, you reap what you sow.

Thank you Alex for posting this and a big thanks to our neighbors that tracked these punks and took the photos.  As disgusting as this crime appears especially given that these are the previous dumpers who are supposedly in contempt of court, I see OPPORTUNITY.  It cold not have come at a better time.  We need to take advantage of this event and drive it home.  City officials and the LAPD Pacific Division failed us on this one.  We need to leverage this for all it is worth.  Please, everybody that cares, make the phone calls and the emails count.  Get the press involved too.

Ditto. To the neighbors who bothered to notice and call them in – you're awesome!  That's some community policing!  Neighborhood Watch at work.

Yep. Wake them up. Figuratively and literally. It's almost impossible to believe this is happening anywhere in this country. The gloves just came off Trutanich.
