What is going on?  Where are the eyewitnesses?  We need to hear from them.  Please.

I think its time to bring in the real heavy hitters you guys… THE EMPOWERMENT COUNCIL!  We really need to kick it up and add some nitro to our cause!

Good Council

Bill Rosendahl

By Linda Immediato Wednesday, Apr 19 2006

When little old ladies were in danger of being evicted in Venice, he was there. When developers inPlaya del Rey failed to go through proper procedures, he was there. It seems Bill Rosendahl, city councilman for the 11th District, is always there. The former cable television broadcaster, educator and social worker took office a little over a year ago and has been winning over many of his Westside constituents ever since. But some of his political peers have called him “anti-development.” It’s true “opposed” is a word you’ll often see attached to Rosendahl’s name when it comes to expansion projects. He opposed the RAD Sunset project, a developmental deal that would have turned an old Venice bus yard into a series of what he called “large monolithic structures too tall and too dense.” He claimed the buildings would be “out of character with the fabric of the community.” He opposed the expansion of the FBI Federal Building in West L.A., saying the building’s location was already in “Gridlock Central.” He opposedthe expansion of LAX.

All this opposing makes locals in the 11th District like Rosendahl even more. They see him fighting to include them in big decisions, continually demanding community input in high-priced land deals. This year, Rosendahl set up what he calls an Empowerment Congress, made up of more than 200 of his Westside constituents. Members will help come up with ideas to tackle issues affecting their community — homelessness, mass transit, land use and education. Rosendahl says, “It was started as a way to get people to believe in democracy again, get the community involved.”

When he’s not in meetings he can be found holding office hours like a dutiful professor, lending an ear to anyone who has something to say. But he’s not perfect, he says. “My biggest flaw is my impatience, that and if I were 20 years younger, I’d work 20 more hours a day.”

Seriously! WHAT A GIGANTIC PATHETIC JOKE!

LAMC 85.02 NOW!

According to Arturo Pena, none of this happened.

The Councilmember called on our Hazmat team to respond to the alleged dumping taking place, however they have not been able to identify any locations.  Our Hazmat team also spoke with a complainant and said complainant could not verify a location and/or if dumping indeed took place.  If you on the other hand have a location where there is indeed waste, please let us know and/or call 800-974-9794.

That's the most illogical statement I've read in a while.  There are photos, complete with locations, and in conjunction with other images of the RV.  Either the "complaintant" [SIC] has amnesia, or Hazmat never showed up.  That's my two cents.

Eyewitnesses need to stand tall and be heard.  Don't be afraid.

There was video posted earlier, now gone. Perhaps it's all being coordinated for one big informative post. I just really hate basically being called a liar by a guy who works for a politician. Who'd know more about a liar, right?

By-the-by: if you are an elected official at any level, I – as a constituant – believe that your spelling and grammatical skills should be nothing short of perfection.

It's embarrassing.

Where are our eyewitnesses?  BD, Alex, anybody?  At a minimum, we know that the City Attorney lied about an outstanding bench warrant for the RV dumper.  Let's finish this business.

I'd love to be able to come back to AP with some facts but right now all I have is he/she said. Anybody have proof/facts?

Well, I would not make a post based on heresay – lets just get that out of the way.

I
will boldly, and selfishly if that is what context it needs to take,
state that my reaction to what occured Friday night has to do with one thing PRIMARILY which is why --> I <-- posted. That one thing is that an RV, with people LIVING in it against LAMC 85.02 dumped multiple gallons of human waste in front of my house, which stood there for days until the city, at a costly expense funded by my tax dollars for cleaning it up – were supposed to be charged with the crime of dumping, aiding and abetting a dumping, and the cost of the cleanup.

Trutanich said it. The City Attorney's communications director said it. Rosendahl said it. The cops said it. I was personally and directly told there were warrants, and if the RV is spotted, call it in… they were looking for them. This information was not just passed on by me, I have been at meetings with the city attorney and LAPD who have reiterated the same thing to others. I do however take a personal interest in this because it did happen in front of my house. One of my neighbors cranked their baby stroller through it , another had their car parked in it. It was beyond vile.

For the dumping that happened Friday, I will not speak for those involved but I will offer my opinion on the matter – and I will say this is my opinion. I saw photos. I saw video. I received a full account of what transpired by credible individuals. Trust in knowing that this issue is not going to go away. What I will say is that if you saw that RV, and you were told there were warrants out, and you saw fluids gushing from said RV as it pulled out from a parking spot and drove away, and you saw the liquids continue as they drove, and you did your best to capture that by the means you have ( not everyone is a film producer ) – and you call LAPD, and you stand up and state to the police ( after having heard about the warrant from the police and C atty yourself, not from me ) that the drivers of this RV have warrants, and please go check area x where they just dumped more fluids… and the cops tell you (a) there are no warrants (b) there is nothing outstanding on their records (c) no thanks we are not really interest in looking at their popped waste caps, or where they may have dumped anything… have a good night goodbye  – now with those RV dwellers who have been noted as being defiant and a bit kooky on other blogs standing there staring at you – maybe you'd prefer to wait until this can be handled more professionally and directly on Tuesday when the City Attorney, etc. will be back in the office after the holiday?

Yes, the blogosphere salivates for photos and video so onlookers can make the final judgement for themselves… but let's not clamour just yet to throw everyone under the RV because Atruro Pena and Rosendahl claim it didn't happen. Guess what folks… this has been stated here and there but I want to toss this out in the open once and for all:

I went to a meeting with 7 other neighbors who had videos and photos of filth, bums and the DUMPING and told Bill Rosendahl to HIS FACE MYSELF – ME I DID IT – that an RV had dumped its waste in front of my house and I am tire of this crap. He said, " oh alex that is terrible you shouldn't have to go through that ". THREE DAYS LATER when it still hadn't been cleaned up… and Yo!, and KFI went ballistic with the story… he says, " what… this is the first I have ever heard of this…".

I have suggested to those who reported the RV on Friday to stay calm, go through the City Attorney even though I am pissed, and do what is best for YOU… and that may not be, at this moment, sharing everything personally on this blog.

I will tell you however that at this moment, Arturo can say a dumping Friday didn't happen all he wants, because apparently if it had… it wouldn't really matter anyway would it because sh!t ain't going to be done about it….

I'm sure after a lovely and relaxing Columbus Day holiday… we'll have a delicious explanation about why these folks are off the hook for their crime…. and it will be nothing short of riveting, entertaining… and totally and utterly disheartening.

Don't be surprised Alex, if reporters contact you again.  (At least I hope they get back on the story.)  It's quite possible that they will be following up--even with Pena's denial.  Did anyone get the names of the police offiers at the scene?
