Parking Enforcement will send out officers to check out expired tags, 72-hour limit, etc. Email the new head of Parking Enforcement for our area -
Jody.Perez@lacity.org. She took over last week for LaTonya Allen, who was at the Town Hall meeting, and is very responsive.
Thanks road_biker. this is a great contact. Do you know if she has instant access to her eimails at all times or is there a phone number we could also contact her at?
Not that it matters, but the quote above was not from me, I had responded to it. The nesting thing does get a bit confusing sometimes. Thx!
Shell Ave RV's: One gone, one left. Cops know him and believe he will be gone soon. Block by block, community by community, city by city and this does not negate the need many people have in these troubled U.S. times, but it needs to be better planned to accompany those with resources and those without. The bums, though, try the desert between here and Vegas. Bravo LAPD task force.

OfflineRV that remains on Shell Ave, just moved across the street, between Milwood and Palms, as street cleaning is tomorrow on the side he had been parked all day. He is cozying down for the night but has to go. The longer he stays the more who will join him. He needs to know this and be accomapnied to a spot elsewhere. I beckon assistance from LAPD and council office and of course the neighbors. It's the old broken window theory. How about you?

OfflineHere's another option – noticed an old white Ford van with curtains drawn and Florida plates at the end of my block about 6:30 one morning. Definitely a "newbie" to the neighborhood, never had seen this vehicle before. I just started pounding on the rear side panel (about where the waterbed would be) and saying "this is not a campground". Guy was gone within half-an-hour and has never been back.
Part of what these VD's are looking for is an area where can they sleep in, and won't be disturbed. They're always in for an early morning wake-up if they park on my block. Admittedly, this tactic works better with smaller vehicles than big campers or buses.

Sweet!
This is exactly what I am talking about.
