(69 votes) Wait a minute, Marta posts under her own name and she isn't a TV star… gosh dern it… my gun and NRA card must be clouding my ability to figure out the logic there. Or maybe there isn't any. Maybe I'll dress "up" for my next TV spot and start posting under a different name just to see what happens! Weeeeeeee!

OfflineIt seems like we get sidetracked too often by in fighting. I am guilty of this too. I went off on Veniceneon when he posted the bullshit comments about the young man killed in Venice 3 months ago. I went off on Venice Steeler Fan because I was offended by his questioning of my intentions (we since made up) and I dueled with Saltwater over his misstatements about Sponto. None of it matters. We all want a better Venice. A safer Venice. We should try to find a way to accept this as our common denominator. Sure, it's ok to call someone on their bs but let's be civil.
A read a great book awhile back called, "The Art of Possibility". Worth the read. In a nutshell, "give them an A". Even if undeserving. Eventually, they move toward the A. They long for the A. They achieve the A.

Marta, the partiot. Must be a Jane Fonda fan.
"NRA garbage…"
In December of 1791 James Madison did not invent the right to keep and bear arms when he drafted the Second Amendment; the right was pre-existing at both common law and in the early state constitutions.
The Court has determined that the Second Amendment limits state and local governmental authority to the same extent that it limits federal authority.
People have individual rights and we should not look to the few to control the many.
The "people" do have the right to carry arms. The "people" do not have the right to sh!t on others lawns.
We do not need government to fix this for us. You should prevent your hard earn taxes from being spent on obscenely high "HAZMAT" clean-ups by joining one and all to get the criminals out of Venice. Taxes should be spent on street lights, public property beautification and upkeep of infrastructure. The remainer should be returned to the citizens.
Citizens of Venice, I join you Nov 1 and care deeply about what BD and many of you have experienced. Justice is not found in laws that are not read by criminals, by definition they are intent on breaking laws. What good is it to make a law and then spend more of your money in an attempt to enforce it? One lady criminal is incarcerated now? At what tax cost to you? At what cost to her child…
Cost of living is too high in Venice for people who spend most of thier "income" on drugs and food. This is because Venice is in demand, as it is a true jewel in both culture and geographic location. They need to move on to where they can afford to live.
LAPD and laws will never accomplish this. We, the citizens of Venice united, can.
Make thier lives here miserable. It is your inividual duty.
- Feed them and it lowers the cost of living. Now they only have to mug and steal for small amounts of gas $ and drug $
- Give them limited harrassment and they weigh this cost against the benefits of location and food availability
Each moment you have away from work and family should be used in the ultimate goal of protecting your family. It is not LAPD responsibility. You will feel quite personally responsible when it is your daughter who is raped under the pier. You will think to yourself I should have done more to prevent crime. LAPD responds to crime. Communities prevent crime.
We must eliminate free food and eliminate thier dwellings. There are social programs in place both government and private where criminals can eventually find thier own way to. Protect your family first. It is your personal responsibility.
Even the criminal with the 8 year old with blond hair will eventually realize that he can serve his family better in a place that is more hospitible to them. Where costs are lower, low wage jobs more available and neighbors less hostile.
We must do our part in every small way to show them that there are many large open areas around the US where you can sh!t in fresh lawns each day, obtain better free services and live at a lower cost.
I feel bad for that black puppy.
"Dogs get treated better"
Yes, because we love them and choose to work to support thier needs. We recieve love in return, Not Raped Children!
Adult humans must support themselves. Subsidizing thier lives with free food reinforces negative action.
Next time you see a crime, do not call LAPD to have them patronize you and play "clean-up," we do not need warnings given out and short trips to full, useless jails. They will just come back to Venice. They will be back to your block. This time to fuC|< your wife and stab her in her face for her purse. Worse they can exude some type of fluid on her and she will live on with HIV.
When you see a crime commited, you have identified a criminal. Prevent thier next crime. The next crime will be more violent. Especially if they visit jail, they come out harder with more training on how to live on preying on others.
Desparate nights will come to the US… as the economy slows further and unemployment slowly creeps higher. Desperation leads a drug addled prior criminal to further risk taking.
Do you want it to be your family who is maimed next year?
It is far from too late. Lets get these criminals out and onward to a new, safer place for them and us. Please begin today.

OK, that takes the cake for the dumbest and most searchingly inflammatory post that has ever been put on this site.
I can't belive that anyone so stupid as to think the thoughts of this post lives in Venice, so I will assume it is a Social Service person trying to put on a "play pretend" mask to try and make it look like YoVenice supports this kind of BULLSHIT. Likely, the post above will show up on Craigslist saying YoVenice is a hate site and get reposted as FACT on Spirit of Venice or something …
I suppose I will now have to check IP logs and computer ID's and find out who just posted that GEM.
dr3AM7, you DO realize that if you have ever registered at this site with another name I have your IP address, yes? Until your post I have never felt the need to check to see who would post something so full of hatred like this would be. DIG IT?
I'll let the post remain as an example of attempted psychological manipulation of web forums. It is a crock of total B S that a first time poster would come and post something like that …forums don't work that way and the concepts that post deals with are very direct in their manipulation.
I, for one, certainly do not support any of the jibberish that is in it, and I will venture to say that no one on this website supports the tangental weird B S that is written in it.
"We must eliminate free food and eliminate thier dwellings." OK, PSYCHO. If I find your IP / computer ID as a previous login before this post, you will be the FIRST person I have outed on this site. Wanna play bullshit like that? Gimme a week to get it together, this is not a "one off" post.
I'll repost what I said back in March, and the same thing stands now:
I don't think anyone in Venice really minds "the homeless" and wants Venice to be "whitieville" like the Palisades or Manhattan Beach. I think people mind transients that verbally and physically attack people, steal , and in general are not cool. If your neighbor played trumpet from 3-6 am you would be pissed. There is nothing wrong with trumpet players, its just when and how ya play the thing … if the new breed of transients were showing any respect to the community, rather than just trashing it, harrasing people, and fighting with residents, I dont think anyone would really mind them sleeping in the park or living in their trucks. Venice is a compassioante place and that is how all the homeless ended up here in the first place. But "as is" many of the transients are being "4 am" trumpet players and that has ta be shut down until they decide to play nice with the community and respect where they are.
What is happening here is not your down on your luck Woody Guthrie dustbowl era "could I sweep your sidewalks or wash your windows for a meal" homeless/ transients whom a community should try and help back up the ladder. This group by and large are spoiled brats that think you "owe them" something just for walking by them on the street. If you ignore them they may attack you. Screw that … it is time for them to go.
The homeless activists fight for the homeless that they think are being dehumanized. I am all for that, no one should be made to feel less than human. The problem is that this new group of transients is doing the reverse, they are dehumanizing the neighborhood of Venice, treating it like it just doesn't matter, and the residents here just don't matter to them. Everyone has the right not to feel marginalized and feel like their existence is respected by their fellow man … what you are seeing here in these forums is people that, while they may have a roof over their head, a computer to type on and some money to spend on dinner each night, .. are angry that the transients are in fact dehumanizing THEM, treating THEM with ill will and no respect.
If the transients here can't respect "their neighbors" they should be dealt with by laws that are on the books … laws that were set in place to force disrespectful people to show some respect to others …
