I am pretty sure you guys know what i mean after reading my topic name,  but if you dont,  I  have to say that I find  it annoying that some private valet parking company (the guy who works there is not friendly when i ask him questions)  is allowed to set up shop and use all the parking spots which have signs that state passenger loading and unloading only between i think 6pm to midnight, which i think isnt legal, I now have to unload or load all my passengers into the middle of the street if i choose to drive,  which I never do.

I am really mad that this valet guy is charging people more money than  allowed by law (  can not be greater than amount charged to park at venice pier big lot, which means handicapped people are charged their normal low rate)

I would really like someone to point me in the right direction so i can review the current parking laws for those spots in front of C&O trattoria,  and find out if this valet is under contract with the city to legally use these spots for their profit.

Thanks

I'm not sure I understand what your gripe is.

Is it about valets using public parking spaces or the amount they charge or both or what?

There was a lot of negative press a couple of years ago about valet parking companies illegally commandeering street parking spaces for their own use but I don't know where that went as far as curtailing their behavior.

Personally, I'm against the idea of handing my car over to red vested foreigners or any other unknown person but that's me.

If that makes me prejudiced then so be it but don't call me racist because valet parkers are of no particular race.

I'm salty and that's what keeps me spicy ©

I won't hand any of my cars over to valets.

They smash it, dent it, or scratch it you're our of luck. Read the ticket, they accept no baliff-fancy way to say tough luck fella!

Let me tell you my gripe, Coldwell Banker on the corner of Strong’s Drive and Washington Blvd, established a parking lot that over flow to the street. Is that legal? You can barely make the corner and if you do, you are lucky no other cars are coming from the other direction.

If that's true I feel sorry for the Electric Ave. neighborhood. CB has the nerve to park in the street in a no parking zone and put cones out so you won't hit their cars. They also lease out the lot on weekends and holidays to a parking service that does the same thing. I have tried complaining to CB and to the city to no avail.

Is that new because I've always known for the last couple of decades Coldwell Banker to be up closer to Via Marina

(across the parking lot from Islands).

Last week I had to deliver a package to that office on Strongs & Washington and it was "Re Max"

You're right Verona, it is ReMax. I took CB off of VCanals post with out really thinking about it even though it was niggling my grey matter as incorrect. :)

Valet Parking is a sham.

The idea that I'm able to drive my car to a location but can't park when I arrive! laughable.

Valet Parking is for LAZY people and the "Entitled" who don't want to walk, there is ALWAYS someplace to park somewhere.
