Some guy just came to my door( which is pretty hidden from the street and you have to go down the side of the house and up the stairs indoors) saying he was a neighbor( though i've never seen him before around my street)and gave me some spiel about going to smc for film and he's in some contest to win a trip to England and France and all the neighbors have helped by buying magazine subscriptions and he just need this much money to win then he asked where my husband was…well after paying my very expensive Venice rent i was broke and said so but even if i weren't i wasn't going to buy because i heard this is a summer scam from what i googled, so if someone comes to your door beware!

I think the whole door-to-door magazine subscription sales is a scam from top to bottom.

When I was a kid I had a job selling magazine subscriptions. I never received a dime for the few I did sell and my customers never got their magazines.

I'm salty and that's what keeps me spicy ©

Get a "no solicitors" sign and put it where you can see if from the street.

I hate dealing with those magazine sales kids--it's a scam up and down and all the way around.

I haven't had any strangers knocking on my door since the sign went up.

The really sad thing about this is children are enlisted in these door to door scrams. Working to all hours of the night. I have had them knock on my door as late as 9:00pm on a school night. What a sham. You wonder who makes all the money off these scrams. Certainly it's not the children, and that is the only reason I would open my door.
