Advisory from the LA Sheriff's Department at 7:20pm:

On Saturday, August 11, 2012, Lomita Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the area of a local resort in the 100 block of Terranea Way, Rancho Palos Verdes, regarding the missing person investigation of Rebecca Weiss, a Marina Del Rey resident.

According to Rebecca Weiss’ husband, she went free-diving near the resort Saturday morning, August 11, 2012, and was supposed to return home at 5:00 P.M.

When Rebecca did not return home, her husband went to the area where they frequently free-dive, in an attempt to locate her. The husband found Rebecca’s personal items on the beach but did not locate her. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Services Detail Divers and Los Angeles County Fire Department/ Lifeguard Dive Division personnel were dispatched to the area to assist in the search for Rebecca Weiss. At 6:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 12, 2012, the agencies conducted an extensive search of the area but did not locate her.

The search is continuing.

Rebecca Weiss is described as a female Asian, 50 years old, black hair / brown eyes, 5’5” tall / 115 pounds, last seen leaving her residence in the 13000 block of Marina Pointe Drive, Marina Del Rey, wearing a wet suit. She left the location in a black 2006 BMW X5, California license plate 5UEJ690.

The case has been passed on to the Homicide department, according to the Daily Breeze.

Looks like they may have found her body.
