In re-reading the press release, it's clear that there is a fundamental and philosophical difference of opinion with regards to the concept of "help."

People need help getting off the streets. Currently, Bill et al are providing help to stay on the streets.

I'd be all for cooperative spirit and good will if we were all working to help get people off the streets*.  I cannot and will not step back and allow my community to get grosser so some old fashioned do-gooders can work to help people stay on the streets.

I, for one, shall remain feisty.

*Member the "Streets to Home" program last year?  As soon as the community-at-large got behind the idea and supported the concept of using Venice funds to move RV dwellers into homes, the old guard changed the game. Turns out they were actually fighting for a "Streets to Parking Lots" program. Homes was a relative term.

Congratulations Heidi. Bill Rosendahl points out that "Some people have spread distorted or false information, and then demanded action based upon such misinformation, complicating the City’s efforts to find solutions to our shared problems". So what's your response ? You double down and spread some more disinformation about why the Roadmaps to Homes  program never happened the way it was envisioned. I can't decide who you people remind me of most, the KKK, the Palestinians, or the Nazis. In any case your ridiculous spins and lies sure do make for entertaining reading. Almost as much fun as reading "Mein Kampf. "

Finally, the "you are all nazis" card!

Yippee kay yay, Hans!

Hans - 'you people' sounds more like something the KKK and the Nazis would say than anything else that has been said here.  Just because people want a clean and safe Venice doesn't make them terrible hateful people.  Is it possible that smart, intelligent, compassionate people may not want to live 100 yards from where people are defecating on the street and hitting people with skateboards.

Your comment doesn't even make sense.

No disinformation in my comment. My opinion, my experience and my stance.

Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it German.

And just because I'm not "in line" with the Old Venice Guard doesn't make it spin.

I'm playing the *#!%$! card on all of you because that's exactly what you are. And I'm giving you fair warning as of right now that I have zero tolerance for nazis.

I get that you're frustrated Hans and I'll forgive you for leaping directly to threats. It sucks to have an argument that can't even go for two posts.  Better luck next time.

Well then I guess you have forced me to point out exactly what disinformation you're spreading here Heidi. The "Roadmaps to Homes" program was supposed to be a program where people who were living in their vehicles would have a safe place to park at night while waiting to transition into traditional housing. But it never came off that way because every single lot that was proposed was opposed by you and the rest of the angry mob the torches . You just wanted the vehicular dwellers gone and didn't want them parking in lots anywhere in Venice.  You're entitled to your own opinion Heidi but you are not entitled to your own facts. And the facts are that when you write that  "As soon as the community-at-large got behind the idea and supported the concept of using Venice funds to move RV dwellers into homes, the old guard changed the game. Turns out they were actually fighting for a "Streets to Parking Lots" program. Homes was a relative term. " you my dear lady are telling a big fat enormous lie.

Wait so you're anti-Palestinian but pro-homeless? Interesting. I never would have connected the West Bank settlements to the homeless encampments but I guess in both situations the State seems to be supporting land-taking so maybe you're on to something...

Actually Hans, I, Heidi, was in favor of lots in Venice, much to the chagrin of many people who also want a safe and sane Venice. Surprised?  Ask your Councilman...

And yes. The Old Venice Guard was all supportive of the transition to lots but got all up in arms when the topic shifted to transition out from the lots and into homes.

I'm sorry but this is so left field and Han's angry mob and torches comment totally reminded me of this. Does anyone remember the RV camper that blew up causing destruction to the bank and a residents property?

Sorry Hans but...moot point

Hans - I suggest you watch your mouth you arrogant, self-righteous, prick.  The Nazis exterminated 12 Million people in gas chambers and burned their bodies in ovens.  Not a single person on this entire site has EVER suggested the slightest bit of violence against the homeless.  Wanting clean and safe streets isn't even in the same universe as the genocide perpetrated by the Nazis.  Just because your namesake is a Krout doesn't mean you can throw around the 'N' word with reckless abandon...

Well.... except for certain members of the mayor's staff.

Irony, it's what's for breakfast.
