Hello Neighbors,

26 bulbs are out in the old light towers along Ocean Front Walk from Clubhouse up to Rose. Some stretches – along Thornton in particular – are pitch black. I've called L.A. 311 every Wednesday this summer to request repairs. As of last night, no changes.

The work order reference # is 276728 with the Street Lighting department. If any of you feel so inclined to call like I have, please do,  so we can get some new bulbs installed on OFW throughout north Venice.

Thanks for your help. If you have any suggestions of who I else I might contact, and/or who you have already contacted, and/or if you know when the new light towers are scheduled to be installed like they were earlier this year in central Venice, I'm all ears.

I will call later, I believe this one of the reason OFW has had so man problems.  Venice Pier has been dark also.  Daniel told me that LEDs were coming to all the lights but not sure when the entire OFW is scheduled to be completed.

Love your bike.

Councilman Rosendahl's office is looking into this right now, which means it should get fixed pretty quick.

Will update when I hear something ….

Join the app/ website See Click Fix for Venice….. please only report viable fixable issues.

Our section of street lights was quickly addressed…..after almost a year of reporting on Venice *&@.

Good luck for your section.  It is a real challenge for safety in a neighborhood where we contribute a fortune in taxes and are not provided the basics….street lights and crosswalks as an example.

Update:

Hi Bret,

I have an update from Street Lighting.

Staff has informed me that last night a crew patrolled the OFW area mentioned on Yo! Venice!

The crew found 24 individual light outages. They were able to restore 15 lights to service, with nine remaining. A crew is being dispatched today to continue these repairs and we will follow up with you as more information becomes available.

Update:

Hi Bret,

I just heard from staff that the remaining nine lights on OFW were replaced.

Thanks again for bringing this to my attention.

Bret, thank you very much for running this up the flag pole so quickly and sharing the update. Every time I hear of Tony from Councilman Rosendahl's office getting involved, things seem to get done. It's gratifying to see how this process unfolded.

Thanks as well to everyone that posted. Now, let's get the Pier re-lit as well!

Best,

- Matt Moore
