Bret, or tired of the dis, or anyone. Do you know what's happening at the store at 26th Ave. on Pacific ? Once was Dave's market I think, more recently Sal's then a gelato place.

Then it was storage for Mellow Water.

A local businessman has the new lease on it and is likely going to work with another long term resident on doing something pretty cool with the space. Sounds like it will be a place that the neighborhood will enjoy.

I saw the architects plans for the remodel – looks like it will be nice .. but it won't look like it did last week anymore …

According to history, that was at one time a surf shop run by Velzy and Jacobs!

I'm salty and that's what keeps me spicy ©

Actually, it has been a neighborhood market since 1937 (except most recently).

I heard that it has been mostly vacant for so long because the business license was allowed to expire which meant they lost the right to have a retail business there as they don't conform to current requirements for parking and access. That is why it was basically used as storage most recently.

Similar to what I heard, although I thought there was a zoning component. I don't think the neighbors are going to be too happy to have any type of retail/restaurant going in there and they may have a fight on their hands.

Thanks, for the pic, looks totally cool, can you buy the pitchfork or traffic cone ? Or are they just for display ? Anyone know what sort of enjoyable space it will be used for ?

Wine Bar will never happen….so you might want to rethink that idea.
