The new building at Lincoln and Nelrose Ave wins the WTF were they thinking award.
- No windows? Check.
- Orange metal stuff that looks like construction barrier material but is permanent? Yup.
- Putting your name on the side of the building to ensure no one ever calls your business? Yup Yup.
- Winning the first ever YoVenice “I can’t believe they actually did that” design award? Smoove.

It's the “Peeling Sunburn” building. I hate it.
OOO - let's do a contest - who can come up with the best name for this building?

It's obviously a tribute to the sand-crawler from Star Wars…

I never really get inspired to stand in the street waving signs in protest, but looking at this thing … whhhaaa the …. how could an architect put their name on the side of this like it is a badge of honor?

It is orange steel grates that are held in place by the white crap stuck on the facade.

Emil - your knowledge of obscure geek trivia knows no bounds.
But you are 100% right. The architect built a scale-model before starting construction of this monstrosity.

I know the guy who built it… and it looked cool in the model. I haven't been in it yet but like seeing a woman who's pregnant for 9 months and then seeing the child (and the kid looks funny or weird), I can't think it is ugly. I knew it when it was (put hand to the floor, one foot above ground) 'this big.' Have fun bagging on it though… it certainly is an eye-catcher. I love orange personally so I don't really have a problem with it. Besides, I never go near that intersection anyway… Stincoln Blvd. Ugh.

Are there windows? How do you build a building like that with no windows?

Lincoln Avenue soooo doesn't need this atrocity. I need to snap a photo, but has anyone taken notice of the horrid home that went up on Rose - across the street from Rosebud Cleaners - I believe this is the former site of the St. Joseph's Center, where they gave out food to the homeless.
Photo to follow - it's HIDEOUS!

AH-HA!
http://www.loopnet.com/property/15352938/2434-Lincoln-Blvd/
Excerpts:
The “Orange Office” is an architecturally distinctive, eco-friendly landmark on Lincoln Blvd that will be immediately identifiable by its orange exterior.
Orange fiber grate provides a screen over translucent acrylic to diminsh heat gain. At night the building will glow* thanks to the acrylic panels under the orange grating — and during the day the translucent acrylic will allow a soft diffuse light for plenty of natural daylighting.
This office space provides an eco-friendly work environment.
*Great so even at night this thing will be an eye-sore.
