So the hubby and I checked out B1 Breadshop on Abbott Kinney today. I tried a brioche and my husband tried the pain au chocolate. All I can say is "wow". We ended up taking home a couple of baguettes, as well some ham-and-cheese croissants. This is the real deal – an authentic french bakery.

My only complaint is when we got there at 10, the shop was still waiting for a delivery from their downtown location. However, since it was only their second day, I expect they'll have this worked out soon. The nice woman at the counter treated us to free french press coffee while we waited.

We'll definitely be back.

Here are a couple of quick photos

LOL. We made it a point to WALK to and from the bakery. I hoping we walked off half a croissant. :)

+1 for B1 Breadshop. Anyone looking for traditional fresh-baked baguettes will not be disappointed. FYI, its in Hoyt Plaza, the strip mall behind the gas station at AK and Washington.

Probably not. Although I see B1 as more of a takeaway place. If I want a leisurely sit-down brunch, I'm still going to go to French Market.

FYI, I've also heard they'll be doing a wine tasting/tapas happy hour on Saturday starting at 7.

They are just getting started, and are still working out the bugs. but are aiming for hours of 8 to 6. I stopped in this morning at 9, and got a delicious cup of coffee.
