Gaby's Mediterranean at 20 Washington has closed.

20 Washington, 90292

A sign went up more than a month ago saying that they had closed for remodeling, but an employee confirmed today that they have closed the location for good.

Gaby's Express remains open for business at both 3216 Washington and 2901 La Cienega.

Seriously? It was the only place you could get great food at a low price on that strip. I am so bummed.

And the one up the street has a drive up window….  I'm addicted to Gabby's – Love the Creamed Spinach and the Chicken soup is just like grandma used to make – as the price of beach rental property goes up, businesses will move east or wither…  I'm not sure it this is good or bad…  I'm afraid that I won't be able to afford to eat at the beach… but because of this, there are a bunch of great places popping up in Mar Vista…  While I miss LaFayette's and HOT, the last REAL Venice workingman's diner, there are alternatives outside Venice.  One of my old beach area haunts was Cora's in Santa Monica, that still exists but is not the old diner food that it once was…  On the other hand, new modern a-go-go people don't eat diner food and go to places like Cafe Gratitude on Rose for great tasting food without all of the bad stuff that makes diner food taste so good………
