Code Venice at 80 Windward is throwing a "going out of business party" tonight and tomorrow. Drink specials, food specials, music, videos and smiling faces will be the theme for both evenings. Everyone at Code is ready to party and finish up what is on the shelves, so drop in and check it out!

Code Venice

The investors will be meeting up next week to plan what is next for the location.

If you do happen to (accidentally) spell windward or leeward without a 'D' – don't feel bad. Tackle it head on.

I suggest putting on leather chaps, a green silk scarf & a pirate hat, then taking a stroll around Venice.

Feel the nautical vibe. Possibly even check out the alphabet streets ?

Dry Tour and Code were the same investor group, with one person from Dry Tour that became a passive investor when the name was changed from my understanding of it.

Every place at this address fails, NO PARKING!

I think I learned about this problem right here on YO!

If I am not completely out of it, there have been other failed bars and food joints here in the past; all failed.

Can't really blame the parking. Larry's and Danny's are doing just fine, so is Mao's across the intersection. Maybe the places keep failing because they aren't good?

It's not parking.  Windward corridor has enough pedestrian draw to make it a promenade experience.  But the actual customer serving area is quite small in relation to the rental rate.  This is due in large part to the high ratio of space dedicated to non-service area (the kitchen and bar are way too big for this place).

I've been in the kitchen. It is about as big as two hopscotch play spaces. I'd think because it is so small (seriously, it is "clown car" sized), there can't be a really extensive menu served out of that kitchen, which is a problem.

The bar was supposed to be smaller and on the opposite side of the room, behind the supporting pillars … that is a story for another day tho …
