A friend of mine got stabbed 3 times last night outside of the Garter. Apparently some thuggish guys were giving some girls a hard time in the club, he stepped in and told them to knock it off. They actually stopped and left the bar without much fuss. But, as my friend was leaving they rushed him and his girlfriend.

My friend got in between his girl and the guys and they stuck him three times. He went to the emergency room and was pretty lucky they didn't hit any organs.
I haven't been able to get ahold of him, but I think people would want to know. I'd also like to know if anyone's heard anything about the perps. Know anything?

God I hate that place. Total pain in the neighborhood's a$$. Checking with others in the area to see if anyone heard/saw anything. Prayers to the stand-up victim.

Is BG sure about their story?? I have to tell you I was there the entire night for their Halloween Party and Costume Contest and I did not see anything but good vibes all night. The owner, bartenders and bouncers had everyone under control and the party was well maintained. I was outside afterwards for a while making sure friends had rides etc and never saw any altercations, fights, ambulances or police. As odd as it sounds, everyone just sort of tapered off in their exit. It was never stampedes of loud party goers exiting. Could BG be confusing The Garter with another venue? Sorry for the disbelief, it's just that I (and everyone I have talked to since reading this) never saw any sort of stabbing or problem.

Yeah the venue is correct, I only posted here to try and get some awareness of what happened going on… Yo Venice is such an amazing tool for the community.
These things happen fast, and it happened outside the venue apparently. I don't have a ton of details… I was hoping some people here might have seen something or have some info that might be useful to the victim once he recovers. It's possible it happened just down the street. They were attacked right after leaving the club.

Ive been away from home for 17 years, lived in venice for 30 yrs before that, I remember the RED Garter, it was a shithole then! nothing changes thank god for Lake Tahoe you clueless sheep.

Some of the people on this site are seriously hostile, and it's extremely counterproductive. This dude made a 35 word, mildly negative comment about the former Red Garter, and he's been lashed out at to a degree that I find irrational, with the standard Yo Venice personal attacks.
There's a lot of good that comes from the online community on this website, yet the overwhelming reputation of this site among my Venice buds is that you're a bunch of wackjob relentless haters. That's unfortunate, and very easily fixed.
In particular, Mr. Tired, maybe the Venice OG's aren't renting your overpriced penthouses, but that doesn't mean they don't get to speak on this site. You do not speak for all of Venice. Maybe if you treated people with a little more respect yourself, you wouldn't be so "tired of the disrespect" that you seem so burdened with. You get what you give, "beoch".

OG is for "Original Gangster" or "Gangsta"
Not sure where it started but has been mentioned many times in early rap songs.
I think it is a term used to describe the Original founders of gangs then it became slang for anyone who thinks they are "Old School"
I guess native americans are all OG!
