Fresh & Easy, the food chain owned by the British Tesco group, informed the Venice Neighborhood Council that they were "not moving forward with the site" that had been proposed for 3240 Washington Boulevard back in December.

It appears that the property has now been taken over by the Enterprise Rent-A-Car company, which presently has a "smallish" location at 2487 Lincoln.

That's awesome news! Hoping the larger space will keep them from using residential streets to run their business! I noticed a sold sign on the old World Gym space across the street. Any 411 on what's going in there besides not a Trader Joes?

Irony, it's what's for breakfast.

awesome?  really?  it's better than an empty lot--i guess.  but in my experience they are a horrible company and a horrible neighbor.

i hope they prove better at both at this new location.

It's much better than having them park the vans, cars and trucks on Garfield, Van Buren and Grant. Glad they are finally moving. Now if only the mechanics would put their cars in the lot as well!

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! Seriously? Really? Please let that be true. Pretty please?

Venus Venitian, I have heard from their higher ups that they would STOP STORING A FLEET OF CARS on our residential streets as soon as they got the 3240 space. We can only hope they live up to their word. There are a bunch of RVs that have been living on Harrison for years now. I would be a liar if I said I wouldn't enjoy them and Enterprise fighting over residential parking spots twice a week for street sweeping.

Irony, it's what's for breakfast.

d00d, would you really want a TJ's there? That intersection is already a clusterf*ck.

On the topic of what Lincoln needs would this be more to your liking?

Personally, I think it's great news.

You guys need to give up your obsession with Trader Joe's in Venice.  TJs corporate office has continually said they do not

open stores where the real estate is too expensive.

They are putting one in the Marina.
