Matthew K. asked "where can the best coffee in Venice be found" over at the VNC Facebook page, so to help him out here is a poll to make it official. You will see the results after you vote.

The places that are listed are ones that people typically go to as a coffee destination point, not necessarily restaurants that may also have great coffee which are not listed.

Bret, You left off my favorite, Urth Cafe, I suppose because it's in SM, not Venice.  But it is the only nearby place I can get a cappuccino like one I would get in Rome that is not so outrageously expensive as the cappuccino at Intelligencia.  (Intelligencia has the same quality as Urth, but is the same price as Urth for half the volume.)  No other shop comes close to the quality.  So, I walk up there two or three mornings every week for their Italia style cap.  Mark

I have to put a mention in for Cafe Gratitude's coffee with almond milk. Didn't think I was going to like it, but I really needed a caffeine fix while I was having lunch there last week so I ordered anyway, best damn cup of coffee I've had in a while!

You would have to have lived in a cave in the middle of nowhere to not know what Starbucks tastes like. Are you related to Bin Laden?

I voted Intelligentsia but thought I'd mention that GTA has very good coffee despite not being part of the poll. (I wouldn't have put them ahead of Intelligentsia, though.)

I can't believe the Rose Cafe got a few votes.  They have the worst coffee!  Still, despite that. I've been going to the Rose for 30-years!  I love the food, the atmosphere and the staff… but the coffee?  Ugh.

It's a split vote for me: Intelligentsia & Groundworks.

Groundworks was the best around until recently. Now they suck. They use to roast beans in house. No mas! The taste is not always the same. Sometimes to burnt or sometimes just bitter! Awful. For years they had day old muffins that they would sell not any longer. Why? It's the little things that kill. They are trying to go corporate like shitbucks And they did away with all the cool people too! Que Vo Venice.

Went to B1 Breadshop yesterday, and their coffee is great.   No lattes and such, but the coffee is served in individual french press takeaway cups.   Smooth and yummy.

Croissants were amazing.

My daily cup usually comes from Groundwork on Rose, but my favorite cup is at Schultzie's. Their lattes are delicious and the iced coffee (brewed New Orleans style, with chicory) is perfect on a hot day. Plus, they're the only walk-up window around, which means I don't have to tie the dog up while I get my fix.
