Venice local Mike, whose last name we never were aware of, passed on last night in his sleep under some beautiful bougainvillea vines on Venice Boulevard around 1:30 am. The LAPD said it was of natural causes (but would not release names pending family notification) and we heard from others that Mike had been in the hospital earlier this week but self discharged against doctors advice. Many will remember Mike as the skinny guy with the big hat and a smile. Fare you well Mike.
