With all of this awesome weather around here, it is easy to forget that some people are never "off the clock" when it comes to protecting us here in Venice. Yo! Venice! reader E-Dogg submitted this story and video Saturday while we were at the beach and the Venice Fire Department was in the blistering heat practicing. Thanks E-Dogg and the Venice branch of the LAFD!
From E-Dogg:
I got to my office today and the street was blocked by a Fire Department truck. They were up on the roof of the building across the street. Apparently, they like to use that roof as a training ground since it’s so complex and built with a number of different construction techniques and materials.
Attached is a satellite map pic of the roof of the building and a link to a small video I shot and put on YouTube.
Props to the LAFD for practicing on a Saturday… and taking the time to show the new guys about the unique situations they might run in to saving lives down here at the beach.
