We checked in with Bart and Caroline - owners of Elvino Wines, which is “coming soon” to Abbot Kinney. Here is Bart’s reply:

“Thanks for contacting us. We’re happy to report that Elvino is moving forward again. We’ve been idle for a few months while we were waiting for our hearing dates for the City of L.A.’s Zoning Administrator…We’re hoping to open our doors sometime in December, if not soon after. My wife Caroline and I are long time Venice residents, and we’re really excited to be the neighborhood wine shop on Abbot Kinney. We’re looking forward to knowing more of our neighbors, and turning all our friends -old and new- onto some wonderful and interesting wines. Keep in touch, we’ll keep you posted.”

He promised some pictures once construction starts. (so we won’t keep having to use this one!)
